Land is central to Zambia’s development, providing the foundation for agriculture, livelihoods, biodiversity, and ecosystem health. At ZCCN, we believe that responsible land use and management are essential for achieving food security, climate resilience, environmental protection, and social justice.
The Land Use and Management thematic area brings together members who advocate for equitable land governance, promote sustainable farming practices, and support community rights over land and natural resources. This work also includes monitoring land degradation, encouraging agroecology, and influencing policy reform to safeguard Zambia’s land for future generations.
Members under this thematic area include:
① Centrica Foundation (Chair)
② Chileshe G Musonda (Co Chair)
③ Impact Visible
④ Centre for Environment Justice
⑤ Michenja Sustainable Development Organisation
⑥ Pelum Zambia
⑦ Green Living Movement (GLM)
⑧ Zambia Alliance for Agroecology and Biodiversity (ZAAB)
⑨ World Vision Zambia
ZCCN’s Land Use and Management work is grounded in the principle that land is not just a resource, but a heritage to be protected and stewarded through inclusive, fair, and sustainable approaches.
